Welcome to the spring issue of the Charles University Alumni Club Newsletter.

The spring brings a renewal of light and life: New situation, new resolutions, new challenges. We are standing at the foothill of the mountain trail that leads a steep way up. The path may be difficult to follow and takes courage to climb, but at the same time, it offers beautiful views, natural wonders, and breathtaking scenery. Life is a journey, not a destination (Ralph Waldo Emerson).

We all hope that this year, we will finally reunite with our families and friends. In the meantime, please let us offer you a few cultural and entertaining events along this journey.

	Online Comedy by Švanda Theater Thursday, April 15 @ 7 pm Save the date! We are proud to invite you to the online comedy by Švanda Theatre on Thursday, April 15 @ 7 pm. *The Night Before The Funeral* is in Czech with English subtitles. Book your seat and enjoy the play!
	Haig Utidjian's Music Sessions Each Wednesday @ 7:30 pm Haig Utidjian's Charles University weekly sessions on Repertoire and Interpretation will continue this spring. Haig Utidjian, Ph.D., is a professional musicologist and conductor of the Charles University Chorus and Orchestra. The sessions are held via Zoom in English and are free of charge. 	St. Wenceslas Rotunda in Prague Virtual tour available Discovered in 2003 at Prague’s Lesser Town Square, St. Wenceslas Rotunda is dated to the early 11th century. You are welcome to take a virtual tour through the St. Wenceslas Rotunda and admire its unique Romanesque tiling that remained hidden from sight for more than 725 years.

	Bohuslav Martinů at National Theatre Modern Classical Music Starting this spring with astonishing works by Bohuslav Martinů, the National Theatre will kick off a project of online events followed by concerts with music by Hans Krása and a tribute to the contemporary period by Igor Stravinsky. You can find even more online events in Czech.
	IForum Magazine Online magazine Charles University free magazine features articles on the CU pandemic conference, a think-tank on social interaction, and an interesting interview with psychiatrist Lucie Bankovská Motlová. See also the website about CU Czechpats (in Czech).
