Dear International Students,

 

We are very happy to welcome you to the new academic year at Charles University (CU)! Our newsletters will accompany you throughout the academic year. We will inform you of all services that we offer to Charles University students and send you important news as well as invitations to upcoming events. As a part of the Rectorate, the CU Point is here to guide you through your studies and provide you with useful information on Charles University services and activities. We will do our best to help you with your studies, personal problems as well as practical issues. All of our services are free of charge.

CICSS changes its name to CU Point

Our Center for Information, Counselling and Social Services is changing its name to CU Point. Feel free to contact us at info@cuni.cz / 224 491 850 and visit us on weekdays in our new offices at Celetná 13, Prague 1 (by appointment).

Student Cards

Lost Student Card? CU Point issues student ID cards either with or without the ISIC licence. Student cards are also used in dorms, libraries and canteens. The main card service centre is located at Opletalova 38 (from November newly at Celetná 13).

All international students are invited to our Movie Night on October 17 at 5 pm. Come to see the award-winning Czech movie Ice Mother. Free of charge, registration required. Blue Auditorium, Celetná 20.

25.10. Welcome Day for New PhD Students

Welcome Day for new international PhD students is taking place on October 25. Get the most important information about your doctoral studies, research financing and academic integrity. Blue Auditorium, Celetná 20.

Be Fit with CU Point!

All international students are welcome to join our Yoga, Tai-chi or Drum classes that will be taking place in November and December. Free of charge, registration required. For more information contact us at info@cuni.cz or 224 491 850.

Personal Development and Self-Discovery Group

Opportunity for both Czech and international students to join an open group that meets once a week. For more information please contact the group coordinator at: counsel@ruk.cuni.cz

Counselling

Looking for advice on cultural shock and stress management? We offer psychological counselling with Mgr. Milan Polák in English. Free of charge for CU students. Contact: counsel@ruk.cuni.cz

Centrum InterU

The Centrum InterU under the Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies offers individual language consultations focusing on life in the Czech Republic and studies at Charles University.

Commemorating the 17th November 1989

This year we are commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution in the Czech Republic. The events on the Day of Remembrance (November 17) will take place at Albertov and Národní třída.

Do you want to present your scientific work in an entertaining way in front of a diverse audience? We are inviting all students who want to give a speech about their project on stage in English!
