Dear International Students,The start of the new academic year is here – welcome back! We would also like to warmly welcome all new first-year students at Charles University (CU). Our newsletters will accompany you throughout the whole academic year. We will keep you updated on services that we offer to Charles University students and send you important news as well as invitations to upcoming events. As a part of the Rectorate, CU Point is here to guide you through your studies and provide you with useful information on Charles University services and activities. We will do our best to help you with your studies, personal problems as well as practical issues. All of our services and events are free of charge. Also, follow regularly the news and all up-to-date information on the Covid-19 situation on the university website as well as faculty websites. Although the beginning of this academic year is different in many ways, we wish you good luck with your studies and a great fall!

Ph.D. Students: Cross-Culture Communications (online) 19. 10. Are you required to communicate in international teams? The course focuses on how to get along with the rest of the world by understanding our cultural differences and gaining much broader freedom in communicating, leading people and working as a team. |
22. 10. Run for It! is a jogging event which is for all runners – beginners as well as advanced. Come and learn the right technique of jogging. The first lesson will take place outside in Obora Hvězda in Prague 6. So what are you waiting for? Run for it! |
Webinar: Open Your Mind to Open Access 22. 10. What is open access? How can predatory publishers be identified? What does CU have to offer in the field of open science? The webinar is organized as a part of the Open Access Week 2020, and it is available to all CU students and employees. |

CU Point issues student ID cards either with or without the ISIC licence. The main card service centre is located at Celetná 13, Prague 1. Apart from your domestic faculty, student cards are also used in dorms, canteens and libraries. |
CU Point Lockers Are you looking for a place where to store your personal belongings, books etc. while having a class in the centre of Prague? Come and try our brand new lockers in Celetná 13, ground floor. Use your student card as the key! |
Housing Assistants Are you staying in a dorm and need some help or advice? Need to know where to find a gym, laundry or study room? Do not know how to report any technical problem in your room? Do not hesitate to contact our student housing assistants at your dormitory. |

We provide services to help you get through the challenges that you may face in emotional, interpersonal, and academic/career–choice situations. In our Carolina Centre we offer psychological, legal and career counselling. All services are free of charge. |
