Dear International Students,The start of the new academic year 2021/2022 is here – welcome back! We would also like to warmly welcome all new freshmen students at Charles University (CU). Our newsletters will accompany you throughout the whole academic year. We will keep you updated on services for Charles University students and send you important news as well as invitations to upcoming events. This month, you are cordially invited to our Welcome Day for International Students, afternoon Running Session, webinar on Working While Studying – and much more! As a part of the Rectorate, CU Point is here to guide you through your studies. We will do our best to help you with your studies as well as with practical issues. Working While Studying: Ask a Lawyer! 21. 10. Working abroad triggers many questions, and if you want to learn about the working conditions for international students living in the Czech Republic, this online workshop is for you. A comprehensible summary will be given by Jakub Tomšej from the Faculty of Law.

4. 11. This online integration course for non-EU students will provide you with important information for your stay in Czechia – especially during the first months. You may ask questions concerning your residence legislation, visas, employment, housing, health insurance etc. |
Student Support Group in English Carolina Centre is opening a student support group in English. Come to share your challenges with others, get to know other international as well as Czech students, and, if needed, get psychological help. The group will meet in hybrid format on Thursdays from 19:00 to 20:30. |

CU Point issues student ID cards either with or without the ISIC licence. The main Card Service Centre is located at Celetná 13, Prague 1. Apart from your domestic faculty, student cards are also used in dorms, canteens and libraries. Opening hours of the Card Service Centres are available here. |
Support for Students With Special Needs CU provides support for students with special needs. To be able to use the services, it is necessary to register by October 31. The steps on how to register are available here. For information regarding the offered services, check our website. |

Our Students‘ Sport Achievements Ten CU students and alumni represented the Czech Republic in the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo. Moreover, for our country, these Olympic Games were the most successful in terms of medals. Also, recently our students celebrated sports achievements in basketball and rowing. We are proud to be the alma mater of such outstanding athletes and sportsmen! |
