On October 25, the CU’s Academic Senate elected Professor Milena Králíčková the next rector of Charles University (2022 – 2026). For the first time, Charles University will be led by a woman. Read more about the news here. Congratulations, and we wish her success in leading our Alma Mater!

Welcome to the Czech Republic

4. 11. This online integration course for non-EU students will provide you with important information for your stay in Czechia – especially during the first months. You may ask questions concerning your residence legislation, visas, employment, housing, health insurance, etc.

Working in the EU Institutions

8. 11. We would like to invite you to a webinar on internships and employment opportunities at European Union institutions. The guests will also include people who have already been on such internships and who will share their experiences and recommendations with you.

Carolinum Guided Tours in November

All international students are invited to join us for a guided tour through Carolinum, the historical building of Charles University in the centre of Prague. Do not miss this unique opportunity to learn about the university’s history. You may choose from two dates: November 9 and November 18.

Writing Skills Webinar

10. 11. We are offering you an interactive Writing Skills webinar. The online session is suitable for students with at least intermediate knowledge of English. We will focus on English writing culture, academic style, and appropriate vocabulary.

15. 11. Ahoj, jmenuji se… Join our second follow-up webinar if you are a Ph.D. student who has finished Survival Czech: Module 1. This course will focus on apologies, time expressions, or daily routine.

15. 11. – 7. 12. Do you know what the difference between a leader, a manager, and a follower is? Learn about proper methods of leadership in a specific academic environment. Watch the video and come to the workshop!

16. 11. If you are interested in more effective work in a team, then learn how to achieve it with modern methods during our workshop. The scrum process is based on teamwork, feedbacks, and transparent communication within a team and a company.

Mindfulness Training

22. 11. Join us for essential Mindfulness training in the Green Auditorium in Prague 1! You will have a unique opportunity to learn mindfulness techniques with Mgr. Michal Dvořák, a certified MBSR teacher.

Healthy Lifestyle Webinar

7. 12. Sign up for the Healthy Lifestyle webinar. The online session focuses on the well-being of students, healthy lifestyle, and nutrition. You will acquire healthy eating habits for vital body function, creative energy, and an active lifestyle!

Ph. D. Students - Academic Writing in English: Focus on Paragraph

Do you write essays, articles, or theses in English, but you are unsure about the specific academic style? Our three-session course in November will help you with organizing a paragraph or developing thoughts.

Ph. D. Students – Proofreading Offer

If you are struggling with your academic texts in English and are unsure about the grammar, punctuation, and spelling, you can use consultations with a native speaker of English free of charge. Try our proofreading!

Counselling Services

We provide services to help you get through the challenges you may face in emotional, interpersonal, and academic/career–choice situations. In our Carolina Centre, we offer psychological, legal, and career counselling. All services are free of charge.

Housing Assistants

Are you staying in a dorm and need some help? Need to know where to find a gym, laundry or study room? Do you not know how to report any technical problem in your room? Do not hesitate to contact the student housing assistants at your dormitory.

Boost Your Academic Writing

Explore the new tool for academic writing advanced proofreading - Writefull. It is designed for all researchers and students who write and publish scientific texts in English. Give it a try!
