On December 5, Czech kids are visited by St. Nicholas accompanied by an angel and a devil who give children sweet gifts. On the evening of December 24, Czech kids' favourite Baby Jesus (Ježíšek) brings the presents that you find under the decorated Christmas tree. We also sing Christmas carols, eat carp with potato salad, listen to a Christmas Mass and enjoy time with family eating delicious Vanilla Rolls and other Christmas desserts. It is popular to go and drink mulled wine (svařák) under the impressive Christmas tree at the Old Town Square or other Christmas market places. Veselé Vánoce! |
