Masopust Have you heard of Masopust? The word itself means literally "giving up meat" and it is the Czech version of Mardi Gras or carnival. The celebration refers to the approaching end of winter and it also marks the beginning of the Lenten season. One of the biggest celebrations and parades of masks and colourful costumes around Prague takes place in the suburb of Roztoky. |
